Monday through Friday: 8am-4pm
Saturday: 8am-3pm

Trenton’s solid waste is now going to the Municipal Waste Hub Single Stream Recycling facility in Hampden

This changes how you handle your recycling and other trash.

You no longer need to separate recycling from other trash. It all goes in the same bag.

Everything goes in the trash except:

• Universal Waste
• Hazardous Waste
• Littium ion batteries of any kind, including vape pens (this is hazardous waste)
• Regular batteries of all kinds: AAA, AA, C, D, 9V, etc (these go in universal waste)
• Scrap Metal
• Construction Waste
• Yard Waste
• Dead Animals

The new arrangement is projected to save our town money and recycle a larger portion of our trash.

Recycling

Your trash and recycling can be mixed together. No need to separate them.

Everything goes into the same receptacle for pick-up or at EMR:

These items do not have to be separated. They can be put in with your regular trash:

• Cardboard (flattened)
• Boxboard
• Newspaper
• Magazines
• Mail
• Containers (one gallon or less)
  • Cans (aluminum, tin, etc)
  • Plastic Containers (all types)
  • Glass (all colors)

Metal objects other than cans can be left at EMR. They go in the designated bin for scrap metals to the right of the trash/recycling area.

Yard waste can also be left at EMR. Each Trenton household gets an allowance of 2,000 lbs. of construction debris/yard waste. There is a charge if you are dropping off more than 2,000 lbs
